Here's some handy info on our local animal services and pet care:
Animal Control Help
DuPont teams up with Lakewood to keep our furry friends safe. If you’ve got a non-emergency concern (like a lost dog or pesky raccoon), just give a shout to (253) 830-5010. But if there's an urgent situation, like a dog attack, dial 9-1-1 right away.
Finding Your Lost Pet
Worried about a lost pet? The Pierce County Humane Society might have your buddy safe and sound. Just call them at (253) 383-2733 to check. We'll pray that you find your furry family member.
Pet Licensing Lowdown
Pet licenses in DuPont are good through December 31st, and we need to renew by January 31st to dodge those late fees. Here are a couple of exceptions to keep in mind:
If you’ve just got a pet within the last 30 days or it's under three months old.
If you’re new in town and it's your first 30 days here.
Got a Service Animal? I bet he/she is amazing!
Service animals get a special rate on their license. Just make sure to have the right paperwork. Emotional support animals, though, don’t qualify for this.
Updating Your Pet's Info
If your licensed pet isn’t with you anymore, give a quick call to City Hall at (253) 964-8121 to update our records.
Renewing Your Pet’s License
Keep an eye on your email around the end of the year—that’s when we send out renewal reminders. Want to go green? You can now handle your 2024 pet license online. Just remember to upload the current rabies shots and spay/neuter proof if your pet’s over a year old.
